Sunshine

Hi Lovelies,

How are you all going?  I hope that the weather around you has been kind to you all.  Between the snow storms in Europe, Tornadoes in America & of course the flooding happening in parts of Australia.  If I've forgotten a part of the world with a natural disaster occurring I apologise. Lets' hope Mother Nature is in a better mood soon.  Personally I can't wait to see some sunshine soon.  Hence this card.

I decided yesterday that enough was enough.  I made my self go downstairs to my craft room & made two cards.  I haven't been feeling creative lately, (in fact I haven't felt like doing anything lately) so have struggled making anything at all.  Not even my usual challenge blogs where inspiring me (through no fault of theirs).  I hate when this happens.

So yesterday I decided to try some tutorials that I wanted to do "someday".  Two of which I discovered on Anne's blog here.  The first is on making backgrounds, I used some of my "home-made" glimmer mist (a mixture of ink, water & perfect pearls) & the second on how to reverse  a stamp.   I tried the reversing on a flourish to create the fairy wings.  I used my mists first to colour the paper a golden shade then I followed Anne's instructions & was extremely pleased with the results.  This card has a lot of shimmer in real life, it's just a shame I can't show you.  I also decided to step out of my comfort zone & try different Copic combos.  I've been struggling with colouring black hair, skin tones & general shading.  So I decided to not worry too much & just go for it.

I like the results so much that I decided to use a sketch from TSOT.  Thanks for putting up with my long winded post today ;o).

Happy crafting xoxoxoxo

Hi everyone,

I am on a roll! This is my second post for today.  So if you want to see what I did earlier please scroll down or you can go here.

I think I am channelling Alice!  All day today I've either been trying to use similar Copic colours or I have been using pp's that she has sent to me.  Take this card, the lovely spotted paper is from My Mind's Eye - Stella & Rose that Alice sent to me.  I've been trying very hard not to hoard this paper as it's so beautiful.  The front panel is a piece of pp from Basic Grey's Wisteria(?) range - but don't quote me on that.

I am entering this into the latest Card Patterns sketch here.

Have a great night everyone xoxoxo

Hippy Chic B'day

Hi everyone,

Just before I tell you all about this (gorgeous) card I want to explain something.

Our dinosaur of a computer has given up the ghost yet again. So it's off being repaired (hopefully). Which means I have been using my phone to take photos & upload them to Flickr. Because of this I haven't been able to "fix" the photos so they look like they should. Hence the crooked shot above. The other thing is I'm currently blogging my cards from Flickr & not from my blog. So not sure how that is going. Thanks for being patient with me ;o).

Hippy Chic is fast becoming one of my fav' Bugaboo digi images lately. I just love this image for some reason. I printed her out (just before my 'puter died) a few weeks ago.  Yesterday I decided to try some colour combos that I have found & pinned on Pinterest here.  I tried some of the colour combo's that Alice used on this card.  I loved the colour of Gadget girl's hair. I didn't have all the colours that Alice used so improvised & I think that it turned out well.  I also used TSOT's latest sketch here.

Thanks for stopping by today & happy crafting everyone xoxoxo

Enjoy - Barb's 90 Minute Scramble

Enjoy
Originally uploaded by pajalu (Paula)

Hi everyone,

Today Barb hosted a 90 minute scramble on the Hero Arts flickr site. The theme: Flowers & Die Cuts. I used an older background stamp & a nestie die. I kept this card fairly simple, so I could get it done in time. I used Copics to colour the flowers. The background I coloured with Bundled Sage & Worn Lipstick distress inks. I added two gems to the Worn Lipstick flowers to keep the flowers fairly uniformed. Did that make sense?

I don't often get a chance to play along with these scrambles as the time differences usually don't work in my favour. I do like playing along when I can.

Well Lil's is having a mini meltdown yet again today so I'd better be going.

Thanks for stopping by & happy crafting everyone xoxoxoxoxo

Kerri's birthday card

Kerri's birthday card
Originally uploaded by pajalu (Paula)

Hi There,

Well firstly thank you to all for my Birthday wishes :o). I had a very lovely day, not doing much - except chasing Lils' around the place.

Today I thought I'd share this card I've made for a friend's birthday (today). I used a Bugaboo digi image for this card. I managed to rummage through my scrap bucket to find most of the papers on this card. I did use some beautiful pp from a pack Alice gave to me. I even managed (halft way through) to make sure the Copics I was using matched the colours in the papers. I am really happy with this card. I even had the bright idea to use a smaller nestie (same shape as the big one) to add some extra dimension to the top & bottom of the image. Hope that made sense.

Any hoo that's it from me today. We have to go out for the party soon.

Have a great day everyone & Happy Anniversary Doug - we made it to the "Seven year itch" honey! Love you <3

PS I used my new smart phone to upload this picture so am not sure on the quality of it yet.

It's been awhile & a share

Hi there lovelies :o),

I know I've been awol for ages & ages.  Life seems to have a funny way of getting the better of me.  Although I am hoping to change all of that, since I am now the proud owner of a new Laptop.  I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it is to be connected to wifi & be able to be in the same room as my girls & be connected to all of you at the same time.  It's bliss I tell you, (I know small things amuse me all the time) I am hoping to be online a lot more from now on especially to comment on all of your wonderful blogs.
I also have a share for you today.  A little while ago the very lovely Anne from Gaal Creative sent me an ATC & a card.  I have asked Anne if I could share what she made with all of you & she kindly said yes.

I just wanted to say Anne even kindly emailed me these photos so I could share with all of you.  The top picture is the ATC, isn't that fox just the cutest!  I love everything about him/her & that background is just brilliant.  The card is wonderful as well, all the soft colours go so perfectly with the flower image.  I love everything about them both.  So Anne thank you very much.

Well I'm off to bath my babies, then feed the little darlings.  Unless Lils' turns off the computer before I can save it!

Happy crafting everyone xoxoxoxo
