May sketch for Daisychain

Hi Lovelies,

I thought I would share with you  my latest sketch for Daisychain Scrapbooks.  I have two example cards made  up with this sketch which will be at Daisychain's over the next month.

I have been playing in Gimp yet again.  This time I've used some dies to make "Brushes" with.  So I have more shapes to use & the cards now look more like the sketches.  I still have a heap of dies I want to use.  So when I get a spare few minutes I cut them out, photograph them, upload them to my laptop.  Then I  finally  turn them into brushes using the gimp software.   Which can be time consuming, but hopefully the final images will be worth it.

I will share the cards I made later.  Once I know which one is going to be displayed first.

Update & a share

Hi Lovelies,

I thought I  would pop in today & post a picture of a card I made.

I know it's been so long since I have done anything with my blog.  Not even my two favourite blogs that I was a DT member for Try Stamping on Tuesdays & Die Cut Divas.  I have decided  with a very heavy heart that I had better quit them whilst I try to get  back on track.  I have been suffering from migraines for most of my adult life & it has gotten to the point where I get them every month.  My Doctor has changed my medication and at the moment the new meds' seem to be working.  I have been told that I may be able to get on a preventive medication that will reduce the migraines to once or twice a year.  Which I am so hoping will work.

Life is full on at the moment.  What with the kidlets school(s), sports - Emsy  is now doing Karate (& I am going to join her), volunteering at the schools etc, etc.  Plus there was the minor fact  that my Laptop's charger decided to not work  anymore (thank you Ebay for my new charger!), then the car deciding that it needed to  have a hissy fit a week after it was serviced.  Thank goodness we now have a second car or there would have been major problems.  Although Emsy thought it meant she'd get out of going to school that day.  After being on holidays for two weeks you would think that she would be chomping at the bit to go & see all her friends.

I am suppose to be looking for work as well.  Between you and  me I am  scared witless. I haven't had a job in eight years and because I haven't been on the Dole (government handouts) I wont benefit from those job search agencies.  As they get money from the government for each person they find work for who has been on some kind of benefits.

Well back to the card.  I was inspired to make this with Kaisercraft's 61/2" pad - Enchanted Garden, which I discovered today has been discontinued.  I used Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Jar & the sentiment is Kaisercraft's Enchanted Garden clear stamp-set.  The large (white) doily came from  a good friend & the smaller one & flowers are dies from Die-namics.  I love their dies.

Well lovelies after a full day of swimming lessons x 2, clothes washing, snake kid wrangling & learning how to make brushes for my favourite Gimp program, so I can do better card sketches.  I had better go, world war ????? has just started between the youngest & eldest kidlet & I had better go referee!  Take care & happy crafting xoxoxo

Drifting away.

Hi Lovelies,

Today I have a canvas to share with you all.

I have used four different stencils & one Die from Dreamweavers to create this pretty canvas.  I used the following die & stencils:
I used a lead pencil to draw certain parts like the wall, boat & hot air balloon.  I then coloured all the stenciled areas with Copics.  The lake & sky I coloured with  Distress Inks.

Don't forget to pop over to Die Cut Divas blog to see how my  fellow Divas have used these stencils.

TSOT sketch challenge #153 Keep Warm

Hi Lovelies,

Yes I'm back into the swing of things I hope.  This weeks' wonderful sketch from TSOT is wonderful.  As you will see if you pop over to the blog & check out my fellow DT members take on the sketch.  This week's theme is to keep warm.  Personally I want cooler weather as we are heading for  high 30's  (Celsius) as I write this.  Might even hit 40 with a 40% chance of humidity  - YAY! not!

So to all of you in the "cool zone" I hope this card warms you right up.  I finally am getting around to colouring some Digi images like this one, that I had printed up ages ago.  This is a larger card measuring 6" x 6".  I'm also  using a new Dreamweaver stencil on the top panel.  The pp is from Stella & Rose by MME.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Sketch #151 TSOT

Happy New Year everyone!

I am back recharged & ready to go.  I've been on a forced "holiday" from crafting since the beginning of November last year.  Starting with Emsy's school play, then a week away & finally three weeks of visitors (Hi Mum & Jules).  Today was the first time I even ventured into my favorite scrapping shop to pick up some much needed supplies & maybe one or two treats (tee hee) ;p.

I am so lucky to be able to rejoin the DT for Try Stampin' on Tuesdays.  I have to say this is one of my favorite sites, for great challenges. I especially love the "extras" for each sketch.  Which is a fairly new idea, but a really great one I think.  So here is this week's sketch & the twist - Love plaid.

I used an image from the Greeting Farm that I had coloured with Copics last year.  I used Die-namics Pierced Rectangle Stax & then coloured the background with Distress Inks.  For the plaids I used Washi tape on white c/s & then a banner die from Spellbinders.  The love part is the sentiment.

Doug's mum Eileen fell & broke her arm just after the New Year.  At first the doctors thought she'd broken her elbow, but it turns out the break is above the elbow.  She had surgery a few days ago after being transferred from one hospital to another.  So this card will be finding it's way to her very soon.

I hope that I have inspired you to check out Try Stampin' on Tuesdays & to see what my fellow DT members have come up with.
