Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch#129

Hi Lovelies,

I'm happy to share with you this week's sketch & my take on it.  I really like this sketch & am really happy with my card.  Well that was until one of my girls decided to have a look with their fingers & got sausage grease all over it.  Oh well, I will have to figure something out.  Any way back to the sketch & card.

I love the simple lines of this sketch & this Eureka digi stamp is just the cutest don't you think?  Emsy thought I had made this for upcoming birthday.  I went for a different colour combo to what I am use to.  I wanted to challenge myself to make a nice card with colours I'm not comfortable with.  In this case it is the orange.  I paired it up with aqua.  I really like the combination.

Lilly's Tree

Hi Lovelies,

I'm here today to share a picture I made last night on Gimp 2.8 after looking at various You Tube  "How tos" on how to use Path Tools.  But as with everything in my life this is also kid related.

It all started when Lils decided she didn't want to eat tea (I cooked spag-bol)  she just wanted her taco with cheese.  Yes my girls are strange they have just recently discovered taco shells.  The other night it was a sausage in a taco shell with tomato sauce & cheese.  Kids gotta love 'em.

So after being sent to her room to calm down (imagine the loudest screaming kid) she eventually brought herself back out & sat next to me to watch me make a practice picture.  This is the picture we made.  Emsy helped as well.  It was fun to make with the girls telling me what I had to do.

Lil's wanted the tree, bug, blue sky & grass.  Emsy wanted the tree's lines, hole for the bird, bird (owl) & sun.  I'm really enjoying learning how to use Gimp 2.8.  Eventually I want to make over my blog using stuff I've made in Gimp.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch #128

Hi Lovelies,

Today I'm back with another sketch & card to share with you all.  I hope that they inspire you to play along with us over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  Lately I have really been getting into sketch mode!  I find them fun to create as well as follow.  As always I also love seeing what you all come up with as well.  I get so many wonderful ideas from see what you all create from these sketches.

This card is so simple to make.  I used Washi Tape Cars & then fussy cut out the wheels & Car after stamping them onto a pp (it's has a very faint design on it).  Added a sentiment (got it straight this time) & gems.  How simple, is that.  Best bit is it's a "Guy" card & we all know how hard they are to make! ;)

Happy crafting everyone xoxoxo

Daisy Chains & sketches

Hi Lovelies,

This particular story starts about 6ish weeks ago.  I was in my LSS Daisy Chain Scrapbooks chatting to the owner Barbi about how I had just started doing my own sketches, which I was doing for Try Stampin' on Tuesdays.  So you can imagine how surprised I was when Barbi asked me to do one sketch a month for her & some examples of each sketch.  So now that I've finally gotten organised sort of.  I thought I would share them here with you each week.  I am going to put up a link to Daisy Chain on my sidebar as well, so if you are ever on the Sunshine Coast or see something from my sketches & want it you know where to go.  As all my stuff for Barbi is from her wonderful shop.  I swear I'd live there if I could!

Here is the sketch for July:

Here are some of the cards I have made for this sketch.

Sorry about the blurry quality of the Alien photo (I will replace it later).  I used the fantastic "Blast Off" 6.5" pad, "Aliens" 12 x 12" pp & Gems from Kaisercraft.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts called CL139 "Birthday Messages".

This card is so sweet, the Purple/Aqua colours pop in real life.  I used some of my newest items on this card.  They include Chicken Wire - by Die-namics, Pennants by Spellbinders, Pure Innocence for My Favourite Things - An apple for you & lastly Mini Hexagons 6 x 6" template by Balzer Designs for The Crafters Workshop.  If you look closely at the Aqua bazzil you will see I've lightly gone over it with Peacock Feathers distress ink, using the template.  (I've been inspired by Anne Gaal & her use of templates).

This last card I made today using another Kaisercraft range called Enchanted Garden.  You will probably see me using this a lot in the near future.  The colours are just gorgeous, the stamps wonderful & I even brought the matching Rub-ons!  I don't normally have a lot of sucess with Rub-ons so if you have any tips on how to apply them let me know please.

I did make another card with this sketch.  It was a guy card, I can't share it with you though as Norma (she teaches the most wonderful card/cuttlebug classes) wants to use it in a class.  So I hope to share it with you all at a later date.

Christmas in July - yes please!

Hi Lovelies,

Today I thought I would remind you all about Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  Not only are they sponsoring Die Cut Divas this month & you have a chance to win seven digi images.  Bugaboo is also having a Christmas in July sale!

How cool is that!  Plus don't forget every Friday you get a freebie digi stamp.  I absolutely love this store because the stamps are so easy to use & are fantastically priced.  Now you can get twice as much, the only problem I can see is narrowing down what you want ;-p

Here are just a few reasons I love getting Bugaboo stamps

Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch #127

Hi Lovelies,

This week I am a little late with my Post for Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  So you may not see it over on the Try Stampin' blog.  School hols, have finally come to an end.  I must admit the girls & I had a blast over this last break.  Not a lot of blogging was done or I was just managing to get it done in time.  Hence my "tardyness" today.

I had a blast making this card.  It was quite fiddly with all the fussy cutting I did.  The banner, plane & senditment are all stamped.  The rest was fussy cut from pp's.  I also added some grey Copic colouring to the bottom of the plane just to give it a little something extra.  I do hope that you can come & play with us this week.  Thanks for stopping by & happy crafting to you all.

Try a sketch for Tuesday ;)

Hi Lovelies,

I' m back today with another sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesdays.

I made this cheery card using a combo of Digital stamps & traditional stamps.  I coloured the watering can in with Copics.  The digi image is another Bugaboo one called Rose Can. I love how versatile these images are to use.  Please pop over to the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Blog to see what else the lovely DT memebers have created.

I am auto posting this as at the moment I am on a two day get away with the family.  We're on the Gold Coast (2 hours) south of us.  Checking out the sights of Sea World.  Emsy is on her last week of holidays & the day after tomorrow she'll be heading seven hours south to Glen Innes with my parents, for a few days.  I don't envy them as it will be freezing!  There may even be snow (fingers crossed for Emsy).

Any way have a great week & I hope you have fun crafting xoxoxo

Try Stampin' on Tuesdays Sketch #125

Hi Lovelies,

Today over at Try Stampin' on Tuesdays we have another sketch up for you to play along with.

This is another wonderful sketch & I think it's very versatile.  I'm lucky enough to get a sneak peek at what my fellow DT members members have made & can I say they really put me to shame each week!  I just love their styles & how they use this sketch.  So please pop on over to Try Stampin' on Tuesdays & follow the links back to their personal blogs & leave them some love.  I know they would love to hear from you.

This week I have combined my sketch card with the monthly challenge over at Die Cut Divas.  I couldn't resist.  I love this cute little baby flower pot from Bugaboo.  I can see it being coloured so many different ways don't you think?  I am still playing around with Gimp trying to get my colour levels right.  The green on the flourish & hexagons has come out more yellow than I'd like but everything else is great.

New Die Cut Diva's Challenge

Hi Lovelies,

It is time for a new challenge over at Die Cut Divas.  This month we have Bugaboo as our wonderful sponsors.  I love their digital stamps!  So many fun & gorgeous images.

This month is all about flowers.  We would love for you to make a project using flowers.  If you need to see some gorgeous cards to inspire you please pop over to Die Cut Divas & check out what my fellow DT Divas have created.  They are all so amazing!  Plus by joining in the challenge you get the chance to win 7 Digis for yourself - how amazing is that!

If you have never used Digi Images don't be put off.  You don't really need anything special to use them as long as you have a printer.  But if you are after a simple to use program check out Gimp.  It's fairly simple to use & there are a ton of tutorials on the 'net & you tube.  The best bit is - It's free!

Here is my card to give you some ideas.  Yes it's another stepper card ;).   But I still managed to add loads of flowers & a die cut of course.  All these images are from Bugaboo.  The Unicorn is here, the flowers are here or can be brought as a part of this set or this set & Princess Charlie is here.  I flipped the smaller Unicorn & cut it out.  I coloured all these images in with Copics & used Distress inks on the die cut.

I loved to see what you all come up with!
