TSOT Sketch #115

Hi Lovelies,

It's another wonderful sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesdays.  I am loving that I am slowly building up my cards again all by making two cards from each sketch.  I find that having a sketch cuts down on the amount of time that I waste.  So here is this week's sketch & my take on it.

This card was suppose to be a kids birthday card!  Funny how some cards have other ideas & I must admit I am pleased with the way this card turned out.  I had so much fun using up more scraps & I must admit I did cut into one piece of 12 x 12" pp for the background.  I stamped the butterfly three times.  Once onto the background square & then twice onto the yellow dot pp.  You can't really see it from this photo but I have layered the wings & used pop dots on the outer edge of the top wing & glue dots at the body just to make it more life like I guess.  I then added some Stickles to the wing tips just for added fun.

This next card is just an example of what can be achieved with these sketches.  There is no stamping at all on this particular card.  I used pp & Stickers to create this one.  I had forgotten that I had these gorgeous stickers & was trying to find something else for the card when I stumbled onto these & as they say I had an "Aha!" moment & put this card together really quickly.  Had I planned this card I would have probably used a background stamp like this one & a soft Distress Ink like Bundled Sage or even Antique Linen.

Please Note: That to be eligable to enter the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Contest that you must include stamping on your project.

TSOT Sketch #113

Hi Lovelies,

Today  I have another wonderful sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  I really enjoy sketches as you all know, there are so many different ways to use them don't you think.  I love seeing what my fellow DT members do with these sketches as well as all of you.  Sometimes I think "Darn it - why didn't I think to do that!".

When I saw this sketch I just knew I wanted to do something special with that bottom design on the sketch.  I have been using a duck die (from Cuttlebug kids) to make decorations for an upcoming baby shower for Emsy's teacher.  Which further inspired me to create this cute card.

It's a very simple card, I used Bazzil & a scrap of white c/s to create this card.  I used my trusty/rusty Cuttlebug to emboss the bottom of the card as well as for the duck & for the sentiment.  I clear embossed the button on the sentiment & because there isn't a lot of stamping on this card I also stamped the white c/s.  I used Diamond Glaze & Blue Ice Glitter on the D'vine Swirls.

This next card I made after I was inspired by the papers.  I found some leftover ribbon that matches the pp behind the stamped image.  I originally stamped the golfer on a square of Copic paper but after I started colouring him in I managed to get some Copic smudges where I didn't want them (so hate that).  But because my colouring was pretty good (for me) I decided to cut him out.  I then used Distress Inks to colour watercolour paper, before putting foam adhesive on the image placing him on the paper.  I also fussy cut out the speech bubble & placed foam adhesive behind it as well.

I really  love how one sketch can inspire two completely different cards.  I can't wait to see what you all create & please don't forget to leave my fellow DT members some love as well.  Happy crafting everyone.

Retro/Moxie Fab challenges

Hi Lovelies,

Today I have a card that I made for two challenges.  This sketch challenge for Retro Sketches & Moxie Fab World's latest challenge here.

I really struggled with this card today.  I fussy cut some pp that was covered in Speech bubbles.  Then I couldn't decide on what I wanted to really do with them.  I didn't want to leave them all blank & some had the hearts already printed on them so went with the heart theme.  I then couldn't find any ribbon/twine to use.  So a search through one large jar full of ribbons yielded this cute one.  I'm not 100% happy with this card but as it was outside my comfort zone I think I did ok.

Supplies:
Pattern Paper - Seen & Noted
Ribbon - Unknown
Hero Arts - Cl272 All Occasion Messages

Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch #112

Hi Lovelies,

Today I am back to share with you all the latest cards I have made for Try Stampin' on Tuesday's latest sketch.  I have made two cards & flipped the sketch for one.  I just love how versatile sketches are.

I must admit I did miss part of the sketch when I made the leaf birthday card.  I didn't see the line going down the sketch on the left of the card.  So had to scramble to make the card "right".  Unfortunately it didn't go to plan, I'm thinking I actually like the card before I added the leaves.  Oh well such is life.  I had the large leaf already stamped on some pp & decided it was just right to use for a "Guy" birthday card.  I then found a heap of scraps that I could use behind it.  I love when scraps get used, as I feel like I'm not wasting them & half the time people don't know that is what they are, which is even better.

On my second card I flipped the sketch, just for fun.  I wanted to make a kid's birthday card this time as I still don't have a lot of them at the moment.  I inked up a never before used stamp, coloured it with Copics & tried to match the balls to the colour of the banner pp.  I think that this is colour "neutral" enough that it could be for a little boy or girl.  Once again I mainly used scraps of pp to make this card.  I also added Stickles to the asterisks & balls just for fun.  I really love that sentiment as well - think I will be using it again.

Don't forget to stop by Try Stampin on Tuesday to leave some love for the other DT members.  As they do some amazing work.  Have a wonderful day everyone.

New Challenge at Die Cut Divas

Hi Lovelies,

This month it's my turn to be a Diva Hostess at Die Cut Divas.  I am challenging you all to make a project using Washi Tapes or a Birthday project.  How easy is that!  Here is my card to inspire you.

This is a very simple card to make.  I printed out the Digi butterfly onto Copic paper & then coloured it in with Copics.  I added two strips of Washi Tape to the top right & then a button with twine over it.  I had the vine flourish left over from another project so added that as the butterfly's tail.  I added pop dots to the wings just to make it look as though the butterfly was flying off & used a Hero Arts' stamp for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope that I have inspired you to give this challenge ago.  Don't forget to pop over to the Die Cut Diva Challenge blog to see what my fellow Divas have created & leave them some love as well.

Supplies:
Washi Tape
Cherry Lane Die - Fanciful Flourish
Cuttlebug
Button
Twine
Hero Arts - Digi Flutterbies, CL139 Birthday Messages

Distress Ink - Shaded Lilac

Thank you Hero Arts from the Divas

Hi Lovelies,

As some of you are aware I'm on the Die Cut Divas DT team.  March was hosted by the very lovely Dawn & sponsored by Hero Arts.  So to say Thank you to Hero Arts we decided to make a few Thank you cards.  You can see what my fellow DT members have done by visiting our blog here.  Any hoo I thought I would share my card here with you all as well.

I wanted to make something bright & cheery so used this sketch from Mojo Monday as my inspiration.  Of course all stamps on here are by Hero Arts.  The butterfly is from the digi kit Flutterbies. I used this background stamp (one of my favourites) & the sentiment is from this set.  Which is one of two sentiment sets that I love to use all the time.

Don't forget that a new challenge is beginning for Die Cut Divas on the 1st April & I will be your hostess.  I can't wait to see what you all come up with.  Happy crafting my friends.
