Hi all,
How are you all going this week? I hope that all is well in your part of the world. I also want to take the time to say a HUGE thank you for your support. It has meant a lot to me :). I wish you all a stress free time leading up to Christmas.
I love Christmas time, for me it's a magical time of year. Especially since becoming a mum. Which leads me to a question for all of you. What are your family Christmas traditions? What Christmas traditions do you all love? I am keen to know as we don't have any here in our house yet!
I didn't have any growing up, unless you count putting up the tree & covering it in tinsel. I think a lot of that is because every year we moved & then my parents divorced while I was still quite young. But having said that Christmas has always & always will be one of my most treasured times of year. I made a rule in our house that every second year is spent with Doug's Mum & his side of the family. So that all grandparents in this state can spend some time with their grandkid(s). Unfortunately that means my mum misses out :(. As she lives on the other side of Australia. But we make up for that with lots of phone calls & pictures.
Well I have to go now as Em is ready to write her letter for Santa. Just in case you are all wondering she would like a Dolly from the big guy ;D. TTFN & Happy Holidays.

Was just getting ready to shut down when I saw an update from you! Hugs to all. Thanksgiving here is basically a 4 day weekend. When the kids were small we would also spend time that weekend making ornaments to decorate the tree with. That, for me, was a great tradition. I loved working with and watching them work together. The kids would always fight so much, but not when they were working on something like that. I also had them make there own items to sell when I had a craft show. Kept them busy selling and they didn't nickle and dime me to death all day. Win win in my book! hehe. Love ya, Oz
Now is the time to start your family traditions Paula.... when the kids were younger... decorating the tree was always a special time... they would help choose the tree ( we always have a real one!!!) and then Emma would organise everyone... you had to take turns at putting on a decorations and you had to wear "The Hat" - a $2 shop glittery silver bowler... It was always a big deal. My part of the tradition is that every year I buy or make a new decoration - needless to say - no themed tree in our house... it is quite the eclectic arrangement of odd ornaments!!!! Still each one has a lot of meaning... I miss not having them home to do it now... maybe I'll need to ring and get Emma to come and help. I know she already has her tree up!!!
Take care my dear
You are such a good mum starting traditions and doing all that great stuff! My best memory was when I discovered who santa really was and how I would go through my sis and bro's stocking in the middle of the night then go back to bed and mom and dad couldn't say anything the next morning when they were like how did she get that...lol. These aren't traditions but oh well.
hugs,Kathy
