Hi Lovelies,
Today I want to share with you all Emsy's Easter bonnet, that we made today. By "we" I mean Emsy helped design it & I put it together for her. The school sent home a letter asking parents to make a simple Easter Bonnet for the end of term one.
I went to a dollar store & got this hat for $3. I then went to Spotlight (a homewares & craft store) where I brought a few easter items, chicks & eggs.
To this I added, some flowers (from our wedding table) & a glue gun.
I decided that I wanted to re-use the hat again, so I've made everything easy to get off.
I traced around a small plate onto watercolour paper. Which I then sprayed with my home made Glimmer mist in Olive & Spring Green. I then used my new favourite technique from Anne's blog. Once it was dry I cut out the circle. To which I glued three flowers, three eggs, four chicks & then hand sewed it to the top of the hat.
I took the black/white sash off & remade one using pastel fabric (from my stash) & some more flowers, which I hot glued to the band. I also used velcro on the band so it comes off easier.
I then added the small eggs to the brim with thread. Sort of like a cork hat. Emsy loves it. Now all I have to do is keep it out of Lils' reach until the end of the month.
Thanks for staying with me, I hope you haven't been to bored. Have a great weekend & happy crafting xoxoxoxo

An award.
I have been given an award from the very lovely Judy. Isn't Judy just the sweetest! Here is how this award works:
"Liebster" is German for 'dearest.' The award is a 'share-the-love' arrangement, given to inspirational bloggers with fewer than 200 followers (based on Google followers).
Here's the to-do list of any Liebster award recipient:
1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you
2. Reveal your five blogger picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog (see above)4. Hope that those you award forward it to their favorite bloggers

So here goes. I've decided to give this award to the following lovely bloggers, in no particular order :o).
1. Carrie who has Creative Home. I really enjoy visiting Carrie's blog & she is hoping to get more exposure for her blog (I hope this helps you Carrie).
2. Dawn of Dawn's World. I've always been an admirer of Dawn's wonderful card style & I have been very lucky in meeting Dawn in real life. Let me tell you that Dawn is as lovely as she seems online.
3. Lucille of White Points. I like visiting Lucille's blog as she does some beautiful cards. I hope you visit her & leave some love.
4. Sheila of Color Me Happy. If you haven't seen Sheila's blog you are in for a treat. I love her colouring skills! They are simply amazing.
5. Arlene of A Bit of This and That. Arlene has a wonderful style of card making. Arlene is always so lovely & encouraging towards others. I would love for you to stop by her blog & do the same.
Well that is all from me today. I'm too drained to do anything else (have a cold & no voice). Enjoy what is left of this week my friends xoxoxoxo

Hello - A girl & her cat

Hi everyone,
I made this card for the latest Mojo Monday sketch. This is another "what the hell" kind of card. I started out die cutting around the Bugaboo image, but stuffed it up. That I blame on my cold ;o). So then I played around with Copic colours, background effects & my scraps of pp. I also went through my fav card sketch challenges & settled on this one. I'm really pleased with the final result. I am trying to colour her hair black, but I'm thinking it's still too blue. I am going to have to buy a darker grey I think to get a better result. Overall I am really pleased with this card.
Thanks for stopping by, I love hearing from you all xoxoxoxoxo

Home made Glimmer mist.
Sunshine
Hi Lovelies,
How are you all going? I hope that the weather around you has been kind to you all. Between the snow storms in Europe, Tornadoes in America & of course the flooding happening in parts of Australia. If I've forgotten a part of the world with a natural disaster occurring I apologise. Lets' hope Mother Nature is in a better mood soon. Personally I can't wait to see some sunshine soon. Hence this card.
I decided yesterday that enough was enough. I made my self go downstairs to my craft room & made two cards. I haven't been feeling creative lately, (in fact I haven't felt like doing anything lately) so have struggled making anything at all. Not even my usual challenge blogs where inspiring me (through no fault of theirs). I hate when this happens.
So yesterday I decided to try some tutorials that I wanted to do "someday". Two of which I discovered on Anne's blog here. The first is on making backgrounds, I used some of my "home-made" glimmer mist (a mixture of ink, water & perfect pearls) & the second on how to reverse a stamp. I tried the reversing on a flourish to create the fairy wings. I used my mists first to colour the paper a golden shade then I followed Anne's instructions & was extremely pleased with the results. This card has a lot of shimmer in real life, it's just a shame I can't show you. I also decided to step out of my comfort zone & try different Copic combos. I've been struggling with colouring black hair, skin tones & general shading. So I decided to not worry too much & just go for it.
I like the results so much that I decided to use a sketch from TSOT. Thanks for putting up with my long winded post today ;o).
Happy crafting xoxoxoxo
