An Easter Bonnet

Hi Lovelies,

Today I want to share with you all Emsy's Easter bonnet, that we made today.  By "we" I mean Emsy helped design it & I put it together for her.  The school sent home a letter asking parents to make a simple Easter Bonnet for the end of term one.

I went to a dollar store & got this hat for $3.  I then went to Spotlight (a homewares & craft store) where I brought a few easter items, chicks & eggs.
To this I added, some flowers (from our wedding table) & a glue gun.

I decided that I wanted to re-use the hat again, so I've made everything easy to get off.
I traced around a small plate onto watercolour paper.  Which I then sprayed with my home made Glimmer mist in Olive & Spring Green.  I then used my new favourite technique from Anne's blog. Once it was dry I cut out the circle.  To which I glued three flowers, three eggs, four chicks & then hand sewed it to the top of the hat.
I took the black/white sash off & remade one using pastel fabric (from my stash) & some more flowers, which I hot glued to the band.  I also used velcro on the band so it comes off easier.
I then added the small eggs to the brim with thread.  Sort of like a cork hat. Emsy loves it. Now all I have to do is keep it out of Lils' reach until the end of the month.

Thanks for staying with me, I hope you haven't been to bored.  Have a great weekend & happy crafting xoxoxoxo
