TSOT sketch #107

Hi Lovelies,

This is my latest card for TSOT.  It's a combination of an ATC (the bottom panel) & left over scraps from my work desk.  What do you think?  I am not 100% sold on this, although I do love most things on this card.  I think it's my mojo doing it's slow return, I hope that things get easier soon.  I am trying to not panic lol.  Well lovelies I'm off to do mum things now.

Have a great day & happy crafting everyone.

Red Carpet Studio - The Wedding Singer.

Hi Lovelies,

Well today I am back for my last day as a Guest DT member over at Red Carpet Studio.  I have had a blast!  I have really enjoyed my time with these wonderful ladies - so Thank you very much.  Today's challenge is too use the Wedding Singer as your inspiration for this week's challenge.  To create a wedding or Anniversary card.  The wonderful sponsor this week is the lovely people from My Craft Spot. Who are giving the winner a choice of one of their stamps.

I don't know about you, but I really love the trip down memory lane that this movie gives you. All those songs, hair, clothes, colours, did I mention the hair!  Lol, well anyway here is my card based on this fun movie.

Can you see how the movie influenced this card?  I had such a fun time trying to work out how I was going make this card & honestly I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out.  I was really pleased to find the background pp at my LSS along with those charms.  The pp was originally white embossed on white.  So to make the music stand out more I sprayed it with a mixture of Cornflower Blue Vivid ink, Pearl Ex & water.  I then gently wiped it with a paper towel so the embossing showed through.  After that I stamped the cake, fussy cut & coloured it with Copics.  I then sprayed some white paper with the ink mixture before running it through my Cuttlebug. It is a simple card but I figure it gets the theme across really well.  I had to ink the edges of the die cut paper with Distress Ink & I also used it for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope that you have ago at this challenge, I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.  I love seeing how people use these challenges to make such amazing creations.

TSOT sketch 106

Hi Lovelies,

Here is this weeks sketch for Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  I unfortunately have been super busy & didn't get a chance to make a card.  But I'd love for you all to pop on over there & see what the other amazing DT members have created.  Their cards look amazing is all I can say.

This week has been crazy hectic.  I have had a birthday, anniversary, & a wedding to deal with!  Plus all the getting ready for these things, like getting a new hair-do, clothes shopping etc.  All of which I normally hate with a passion.  I have no idea what suits me or how to style myself, thank goodness for friends is all I can say.

TSOT #105 & explaination

Hi Lovelies,

Here is my take on this week's sketch for Try Stampin' on Tuesday.    These are some of the very last bits from Kaisercrafts Just Believe.  I really love this range of pp but must admit I'm ready for a change. I was inspired by the silver embossed scrap, so with that in mind I came up with this card.  I did make a boo boo on this card can you see it?  No? Are you sure? I stamped the tree backwards!  My brain isn't in it's happy place at the moment - what can I say.  Luckily for me I don't think it matters too much, I just wished that it was the right way around.  As I wanted to add some colour to it like I did with the present.

I also want to let you know the reason why I haven't been as active lately.  Some of you may be aware that I have suffered from Depression in the past.  In fact last year I had it really bad, hence the reason why I wasn't around that much.  Any way for the last few weeks I've been letting it get to me.  So I withdrew from the world so to speak.  I've been a grumpy menace to my family & haven't felt like doing anything, not sleeping or going anywhere.  Don't worry I have the support of my family & really great friends in my mothers group.  I've also started taking some B vitamins supplements to help me calm down before I really get on a downward spiral & need to go back onto anti depressants (hate having to use them) .  It seems to be working, I feel better & am interested in the world again.  I know that I have a wonderful life, family & friends.  But unfortunately my brain is geared wrong, so I go through these periods of "nothingness or blackness".  I dredge up all the things I've done "wrong" over my life even from when I was a small child.   I let the little things that probably wouldn't even register as a blip on a radar get to me.  I know that is what I do & am working really hard to break this cycle.  I have learnt what my "stress signs" are & am working on ways to combat them as well.  I just wanted to let all of you know this as I feel I owe you all an explanation for my bouts of all or nothing on blogger.  I am hoping to restructure my life so that I can balance out my crafting/blogging with real life.  I need to sort this out, as it is doing my head in.  I love to craft & have found that I love being a blogger as well.  But I need to balance my life so that I can do this without the feelings of guilt that some how have attached themselves to myself when I do this.

Ok lovelies hopefully I haven't scared you all off & that I have inspired you all to get creative with this wonderful sketch.  Please pop over to the Try Stampin' on Tuesday blog & leave the other DT gals some love on their gorgeous cards.  Huge hugs to you all xoxoxoxo

Red Carpet Studio - Where the Heart is

Hi Lovelies,

Today is my first time as a Guest DT member for Red Carpet Studio. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for this honour & especially Ashley who has been extremely helpful over these last few weeks.

Now onto the challenge for this week.  You are being asked to make a card around the movie theme Where the heart is.  You are to include a heart on your card.

The wonderful creative Krista Smith of Saturated Canary is kindly giving the winner 2 Digi images  of their choice.  I am telling you now that if you win you will be drooling over her gorgeous digital images.  It takes me FOREVER  to decided what I want when I go there ;o).

I made this card with Love Letters from Saturated Canary.  See what I mean isn't she just gorgeous!  The best part, is these images are so easy to colour in.  I decided to combine her with Pinkpaisley's Sweetness range of pp.  I especially love how the pp compliments the theme of this challenge.  I think of of Love letters or notes as a way of letting someone special know where their heart is, don't you?  I tried to colour her hair in a similar shade to Natalie Portman's hair.  Just because I wanted to.  I also added foam adhesive to the words Love Notes just to give them some extra pop after inking the edges with Distress Ink.  I also inked the edges of all the other papers as well.

I do hope that I have inspired you to play along this week, or at least to pop over to Red Carpet Studio & to  see what the other talented ladies come up with.  I can't wait to see what you all create.

Try Stampin' sketch #104

Hi Lovelies,

Today over at Try Stampin' on Tuesday we have a brand new sketch for you to try.

Today I have tried something a little different with this card.  I used just one piece of pp, & the rest is all stamps.  I started by making a black border with a Copic Multiliner & a ruler.  Which I then masked off before  inking up one of my favourite b/g stamps - Envelope pattern with Pumice Stone Distress inks.  I then stamped the flourish with the same ink.  I then layered the pp onto the card base.  I stamped the flower with Wild Honey Distress ink & then Versafine Onyx Black.  I added foam adhesive to the flower & a gem.  I decided to add a sentiment from Kaisercraft, I firstly inked it up with Pumice Stone & then again with Versafine Onyx Black to create a shadow.

I do hope that I have inspired you all to come over & have fun, with this wonderful sketch.  I know I did.

Supplies:
Distress Inks - Wild Honey, Pumice Stone
Versafine Ink - Onyx Black
Pattern Paper - Darling Dear by My Mind's Eye
Hero Arts Stamps - F5042 Leaf Flourish, S5507 Envelope Pattern, CG250 Small open flower, CG251 Small solid flower,
Kaisercraft - Gems, CS916 Occassions clear stamps

New Challenge at Die Cut Divas

Hi Lovelies,

Today over at Die Cut Divas blog we have a new challenge up.  This month we are challenging you all to make an Untraditional Valentines.  Hannah is challenging us to make a Valentines card with a twist, this is what she has to say
"Because this is the "official" month of love, I am going to challenge you with making Valentines.

But don't think it will be so easy for you! there is a twist as well... I want to see untraditional valentines, and by this I mean not your normal pink red and white color combinations, all of which you can use, but not together on the same card/project.

and as a second option you can use embossing powder on your valentines, to which the above rules do not apply, as long as you use embossing powder.

All cards/projects must be made using at least one die cut or  embossing folder, using any die cut machine you may own."

So with this in mind I have made the following card

I decided to make a "Guys Valentines" so no pinks here.  I decided to use my embossing folders as well as embossing powders on this card.  I tore the cream c/s & then ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Scripts embossing folder.  I used embossing powders in black, red & gold on the sentiment, tree & all the hearts.  I did colour the chipboard hearts with Festive Berries before adding the red embossing powder just to make them richer & darker.

I hope that you pop over to our "New Look" Die Cut Divas blog & not only play along but leave the other DT Ladies some love as well.

Have a great day & happy crafting everyone
