TSOT Sketch #124

Hi Lovelies,

How are you this Tuesday?  I hope that you are inspired to create with this fun sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  It's a simple one I know but I am still learning how to use Gimp.   I am in love with the cards my fellow DT memebers have come up with.  Especially's Nancy's card, it looks abosuletly amazing!  Please go & check them all out here.

I recently brought a couple of stencils (I was inspired by what Anne does with hers) & decided to use them with this sketch.  I used my Twinkling H2O's to colour them in.  I decided to make a Christmas card as I am going to need so many later on.  As you can see I really stuck to the sketch with this card.  But I also want to share a card that I made that turned out nothing like the sketch, yet was inspired by it all the same.  Did that make sense?

Can you see the sketch in this card?  No? I'm not surprised.  I wanted to try out the stencil & used some distress inks on a scrap of paper & then decided that I liked it so much I kept on going.  I was orginally just going to do three colours & have them running diagonally across the card.  This is yet another reason I love having these sketches.  Because with out this sketch I would never have created this fun card.

I hope the the DT members & I have inspired you to play along this week. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

Some cards & bits of my life.

Hi Lovelies,

I know it's been simply ages since I last was here properly (& not auto posting).  I've just been busy & the days simply fly by.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do about this but hey I will figure it out.  Emsy is on school holidays for the next three weeks so no rushing around for school runs which cuts into a lot of my days.  Lils will probably be screaming blue murder by the end of tomorrow & wanting Emsy to go back to school.  I tell you it'd be easier to wrangle snakes! ;-)

Let's see what's happened since I was here.  I won some classes at my LSS Daisychain so I'm doing card classes which has helped me get back into cardmaking.  I learnt how to make stepper cards the other night & now I think I'm addicted.  Just love them, I even splurged today & brought some Kaisercraft pp with Aliens, rockets, stars & spaceships on them.  as well as a 61/2 pattern paper pad called "Blast Off!"  All those fun & vibrant colours look wonderful & really appeal to me at the moment.  I'm still using up my old stuff & in a few weeks I will be trying my hand at selling my cards at a local market on the Sunshine Coast.  Hopefully I will sell enough to make it worthwhile.

Now for the fun here are a few of the cards that I have made over the last day or so

This flaminco card is made up with all sorts of bits & bobs from my stash.  I really love how it all came together.

I was asked to make a baby boy card for a friend of mine & only had an afternoon to make it.  As you can see I kept it simple, but it still looks amazing (well I think so).

I discovered this monkey that I had cut out & coloured in my stash so it was a simple case of finding some pp that went with it & then I had a brain wave (didn't hurt to much lol) & used up some odd Kaisercraft gems to make a pile of jewels for the monkey to guard.  I think some little boy would love getting this card.  I also used my copics to colour in the ribbon to match.

Thanks for stopping by & happy crafting everyone xoxoxoxo

TSOT Sketch #121

Hi Lovelies,

Here is another one of my sketches that I made up for Try Stampin' on Tuesdays.  I was thinking it would be great for wedding cards - must be all those love hearts lol.

Not sure if my card qualifies as a wedding card but I like it (except for the crooked sentiment ggggrrrrrr!).  I went bling crazy & found the cute butterfly on some scrap pp so cut it out to add to the card.  I think it is the perfect size & the colour seems to go a lot better in real life.  I'm still trying to work out Gimp's colouring system so had a hard time getting it to look like it does really.

Please don't forget to visit Try Stampin' on Tuesdays to leave my fellow DT members some love.  Now I'm off to do a birthday card for Billy she's going to be 3 tommorrow!  My oh my how time flies.

Supplies:
White c/s
Green pp
Cuttlebug
Spellbinders' Nestibilities - Scallop circle
Kaisercraft Bling
Kaisercraft Clear stamp set - Botanical Odyssey
Hero Arts Clear stamp set - CL342 Everyday sayings
Distress Ink - Bundled Sage
Versafine ink - Spanish Moss

Daisy Chain sketch

Hi Lovelies,

Today I'd like to share a little something with you all.  Recently I was in Daisy Chain Scrapbooks (I know this isn't anything new) & talking to Barbi about how I've made a couple of sketches for Try Stampin' on Tuesdays.  When Barbi asked me if I'd be interested in making a sketch for her monthly newsletter.  I jumped at the chance.  I managed to get it done & a card made up as well. so I thought I would share it here with you all.

I made this card using Botanical Odyssey & Remember me from Kaisercraft.  Don't they go so well together.   As you can see sketch based cards don't have to be exactly the same as long as they have all the elements of the sketch in them.  I replaced the aqua strip for the flourish & moved the butterfly to the other side.  This is one of the reasons I love sketches as each person can put their own spin on it.  Hope you like my take on this sketch.

I also want to share some cards that I made at "The Biggest Morning Tea" card class that was held at Daisy Chains on Monday just gone.  Each year the Cancer Council encourages everyone to hold or go to morning teas to help raise money for cancer research.  I had a wonderful morning with some very lovely ladies & made some wonderful cards - see below.  Of course they all where "tea" related with two of the cards being able to hold tea bags.  Now all I need to do is find someone who likes tea :) to give them to......

Supplies for my sketch card:
Kaisercraft - Botanical Odyssey 6 1/2 pad
Kaisercraft - Botanical Odyssey Clear stamp set (butterfly)
Kaisercraft - Remember Me Clear stamp set (poppy)
Kaisercraft - Gems (Lilac)
Kaisercraft - Mini Clear stamps Birthday
Cuttlebug
Cherry Lane - Fanciful flourish
Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet
Momento - Tuxedo Black
Copic paper
Copics - G85, E29, BV02, BV04, BV08, BG72, BG18, BG49

Men & Boys at Die Cut Divas

Hi Lovelies,

It's time to reveal our new challenge over at Die Cut Divas.  For the month of June we are celebrating Men & boys.  What a great challenge & just in time for all our USA neighbours to celebrate Fathers' Day.  This month we are sponsored by Lawn Fawn.  So be sure to pop over the challenge blog to see what the other Divas' have created using Lawn Fawn stamps.  Here is my take on the theme, please excuse my colouring in on the mail box as I used Prisma-colour pencils & haven't had a lot of practice using them.

I must admit I haven't had the oppertunity to get any Lawn Fawn stamps so was lucky enough to recieve some stamped images from Arlene.  I had a "Brain-wave" while colouring in & came up with the sentiment.  I am getting quite good at using Gimp so created this circle & sentiment on the computer.   I know it's corny but hey I do corny well mwhhhhha mwhhhhha.

Supplies
Lawn Fawn - Mailbox & letter
Prisma-colour pencils - 925 Crismon Lake, 923 Scarlet Lake, 922 Poppy Red,
Computer for sentiment
