TSOT Sketch #120

Hi Lovelies,

Today over at Try Stampin' on Tuesdays it time for a new sketch.  Guess what!  This sketch is one of mine - I'm so excited ;).  I made a few sketches the other day on Gimp.  I was practicing how to make Brushes & decided to give sketch making ago.  So I'd love to hear what you all think of my sketches.

Here is my card based on the sketch.  I wanted to use up the grey cheveron pp & was thinking of making a sympathy card.  I went through my stamps & came across this Inkadinkado stamp that I haven't used in forever.  I'm not sure on the coloured butterflies or the border.  I actually found the grey colours a bit harder to use.

Supplies:

Hero Arts - CL
Martha Stewart Butterfly punch
Fiskars Lacy border punch

Sea-horse Birthday

Hi Lovelies,

I actually got some time to play along with one of my fav' challenge blogs the other day & now have some more time to share it with you all...............life is good sometimes don't you think?

The sketch is from Seize the Birthday.   I decided that the sketch reminded me of water & bubbles for some strange reason.  So I dug around in my pp's & found this cute pp which is double sided - Bonus!  So I tried very hard to use the colours from the pp to make my card.  Honestly I'm not 100% sold on the greens I used but it's all about learning, so all's good in the end.  I went a bit lot mad with the stickles & glossy accents, which I really enjoyed.  Must have had a "kid" inspired day lol.  Hopefully in the close up you can see my handy work with the bling, besides the seahorse I used GA on the dots.

Supplies:
Pattern Paper - Chick-a-do Hickups by S.E.I
Blue Bazzill
Kaisercraft clear stamp - CS966 Seahorse
Hero Arts clear stamp - CL139 Birthday Messages
Ink - Versafine Onyx Black, Momento Tuxedo Black,
Distress Inks - Forest Moss, Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive, Peacock Feathers
Stickles - Star Dust

Before & after Tea box

Hi Lovelies,

Its Paula here to share with you a before/after recycle of a tea box.

As you can see it's a small box, perfect for something tiny to give to that someone special.  I colour in this cute Clyde the Dragon from Bugaboo, with Copics (see below for colour list).  I covered the box with pp & then cute strips (using the other side) to make two sliders to hold the lid down.  I added a paper bow complete with a green brad, to the top & used glue dots to stick it to one of the sliders.  I adhered the digi image in the same way.  I just love how cute this box is, now all I have to do is find someone to give it too lol.

Don't forget that there is still time to enter our May Challenge Anything but a card.  Proudly sponsored by
Bugaboo & the winner will recieve seven digi stamps.  Plus if you use a Bugaboo stamp you get three entries instead of one.

TSOT Sketch #119

Hi Lovelies,

This week's sketch is such an interesting one don't you think.  At first I wasn't sure on what to do with the strip in the middle.  But hopefully I have done this sketch justice with what I came up with.  What do you think?

I'm still using the Kaisercraft range "Remember Me".  This time I decided to stamp the Poppy three times & cut out certain petals, add a pop dot (foam adhesive) behind it & put the flower back together.  Sort of like Paper Toll.  I then stamped the leaves & cut them out to put behind the flower (for the bar).  I used my new die Die-namics Decorative Doily Duo behind the flower.  I can see this die getting a lot of use.  It looks so lovely & comes in two sizes this being the larger size.  I may even get the oval version of this die at a later date.

I'd love for you to pop over to Try Stampin' on Tuesdays to see what my fellow DT members have come up with.

Blog Hopping with Anne Gaal.

Hi Lovelies,

All this week I've been sharing some of my favourite things from Anne's blog.  As you may (or may not) know Anne is our Guest Designer over at Die Cut Divas.  Anne has been sharing her favourite things from our blogs with her readers & we're returning the favour - so not a hardship I can tell you :).  Well maybe narrowing down what I love the most from Anne's blog Gaal Creative is a little hard with so many yummy things to choose from.

(photo shared with Anne's permission)

So since Die Cut Diva's challenge for May is "Anything but a card".  I thought I'd share some of Anne's other amazing work with you all.  Don't you love this jar (& yes matching card).  It looks so fantastic.  I just love the way Anne uses colour to create such amazing pieces.  This scene on the jar is just fantastic & inspires me to try out colours to make more realistic scenery.

(photo shared with Anne's permission)

As you can see Anne has started making jewelry as well.  Is there no end to her talent?  I just love how these amazing pieces look.  So stylish & sophisticated.  They would look amazing as everyday wear or especially as a piece to wear out on that special night on the town.  I can just imagine how the crystals would catch the light & sparkle.  So very pretty.

(Photo shared with Anne's permission)

Here is another piece of jewelry showing Anne's amazing style, which is just wonderful.  I just love seeing what Anne creates.  I must admit I'm tempted to start dropping hints to my family as too what I'd love to get for Christmas.  Anne has an Etsy store, a Zazzle store & has her work at Stagecoach Gallery where you can buy so many amazing pieces of Art & jewelry from her.

Lastly here is a steampunk inspired piece.  As you can see Anne's jewelry style is as varied & as gorgeous as her photography & paper art.  I really do hope that you can stop by at Anne's blog Gaal Creative & see for your selves what an amazing artist Anne truly is.  Not only that but Anne is one of the most giving people I've had the privalage to meet online, but she inspires me every time I go there & her tutorials are just wonderful.

Remember this month's challenge over at Die Cut Divas is to "Make anything but a card!"  We are being sponsored by Bugaboo Digital Stamps.  Where you have a chance to win seven digi stamps of your choice.

Masculine Ideas

Hi Lovelies,

(photo shared with Anne's permission)

Here is another reason I enjoy Anne's Blog so much.  Not only is her art amazing but Anne also gives the rest of us tips/tricks on how to create better pieces ourselves.  I would never have thought of shapes being masculine or feminine.  Which once I actually thought about it made so much sense.

Don't forget to check out our Die Cut Diva's Blog to see what else we are doing.

Can you start to see why Anne inspires me so much?  Every time I visit her Blog, I am inspired by what Anne creates like this gorgeous ATC.  I am so lucky that I even have a few of Anne's pieces of art to gaze upon every time I'm in my craft room.  Gotta love that.  I especially love the way Anne explains how she creates her art, with easy to follow tutorials.

TSOT Sketch #118 Mornings Suck ;)

Hi Lovelies,

It's that time of the week.  Where I get to share with you the latest sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesdays.  I must admit I groaned when I first saw this sketch.  I wasn't sure what to make of it.  But after seeing what some of the other DT members have made I soon had some ideas flowing.  Sometimes all it takes is to see what someone else has done to help the "creative juices" to flow.  So I hope that you pop over to the Try Stampin' blog & see what my fellow DT members have come up with.  They are constantly inspiring me.

I decided to use this cute Margaret Bugaboo Digi image, which I had sitting on my desk for awhile now.  I also pulled out my "Scraps" to see if I had any usable pieces & with that this card came into being.  I decided to stick with the red/aqua colour scheme when colouring Margaret in.  I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the mug & her glasses for some added interest.

Supplies:
Red Bazzill c/s
Seen & Noted pp by Pebbles
Glossy Accents
Double sided tape
Foam adhesive
Copics -
Hair - BV000, BV00,
Table - E43
Skin - E0000, E000, E00

Daisy Chain DT work.

Hi Lovelies,

Today I want to share with you some DT work I'm doing for Daisy Chains Scrapbooks.  These cards & two LO's will be displayed in the shop & at the upcoming Craft Show in Brisbane if Barbi likes them enough.

I have been working with Kaisercraft's Remember Me range.  I must admit it's not something I normally would work with.  Sometimes it is wonderful to work outside your comfort zone don't you think?  I must admit my first two cards I wasn't that happy with but I'm loving these last ones I've done.

This is a 6.5" Scrapbook page.  I trimmed my photo down to just under 4" square.  As I wanted to showcase this gorgeous pp.  I stamped the Poppy at the bottom on some pale yellow pp from the range & added foam adhesive behind it to raise it up.  The title is from the pad.  All I had to do was ink around the edges to give them definition.  I love this photo of "Gra-Gra" (my mum) & Emsy when she was about two.  I'm going to send this over to my Mum when I get it back as I know she will enjoy it.

This card is fairly simple with the hardest bit is paper piecing the flowers.  Once again I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink on the edges of everything.  When I saw the poppies I knew that I wanted to make a card that payed tribute to those that passed in wars (we celebrated ANZAC Day just recently).  I also think this would be a good sympathy card as well.

I also challenged myself to make some Masculine cards with this paper range.  I wanted people to see they weren't limited with these gorgeous papers.  This is a fairly simple card, the chair panel is actually a Die Cut that came with the pad.  I used grey Bazzil for the base.  I added another Kaisercraft stamp set for the sentiment this time.

This card I really love.  I'm thinking it would make a great Valentines, Wedding, Anniversary card. I made this into an easel card & added another Die Cut (with foam adhesive on the back) to keep it standing up.  The die cut says "Todays little moments become tomorrow's precious memories".  I added some Stickles to the centres of the poppies just because I wanted to "Bling it up" a little.

This is the second card I made with the "Blokes" in mind.  Although it would really suit anyone I guess.  The clock face is another Die Cut from the pad, as is the scallop border.  The sentiment is from  another Kaisercraft stamp set.

This is the 12 x 12 LO I did.  It's mainly Bazzil in Pinks, Red & Manilla.  I stamped the Butterfly twice & paper pieced it.  The poppies where stamped & then coloured with Distress inks & water.  I covered some chipboard letters in pp from the Pad.  On the red bazzill I randomly stamped the large poppy all over it.

Well that is it from for today.  Hopefully I will have some more a little later for you all.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch 117

Hi Lovelies,

I'm back with another Try Stampin' sketch.  I really struggled with this wonderful sketch.  So I can't wait to see what you all come up with.  I think I used way too many pp's on this poor card.  As much as I love sketches sometimes I find it really hard to come up with anything that I will be happy with.  I'm also trying to come up with something decent with these gorgeous pp & stamps by Kaisercraft as my LSS is waiting on me to do something with them.  Not only are they going to be displayed in the shop but they are also hoping to take them to the craft show.  So I really need to pull "the old rabbit out of the hat" & come up with something magical.  Anyway enough stalling here is my card.

Supplies:
Kaisercraft - Remember Me 61/2 pad
Kaisercraft - Clear Stamps Remember Me CS870
Red Bazzil
Card base
Double sided tape

Try Stampin' on Tuesday on a Friday (whoops)

Hi Lovelies,

*Hi there I thought I had set this post to schedule but didn't so I'm sorry I didn't get this up in time.  I promise to do better & check next time.

Yup it's sketch time :).  I just love seeing what you all create from these sketches.  I get so many ideas & think why the heck didn't I think of that!

I have been asked by my LSS Daisychains to do some more DT work for them which can be displayed in the shop & at the craft show that is comming up in June.  So I put this card together from Kaisercraft stamps & 6" pad.  They are from the Remember Me range.  I did find the flower a bit of a struggle to colour, but am still happy with it all the same.  I think once I get my "colour eye" in this could be a great stamp to colour.  I love how the petals almost look 3-D.  I am even thinking about stamping it 3-4 times & then cutting & layering the petals.  How amazing would that look!
