November/December CCC

Hi Lovelies,

Well I managed to upload a picture & things seem to be returing to normal around here.  Although we are still having issues with the computer.  Now my dh can't recieve any emails either, except one that keeps resending to us & the "techies" can't seem to help either.  So they are thinking it's a server issue & will get back to us in the next 24 hours, fingers crossed.

Anyways here is my card for the latest CCC over on Lily Pad Cards.  I made it last week (hoping that I could play along).  I kept it pretty simple & tried to use all three of the themes for this challenge.  Thanks for popping by today.

I'm hoping by tomorrow arvo I will be able to see pictures again after a few minutes (not hours) & will be able to leave you all some comments on your wonderful cards.

Happy crafting everyone xoxoxoxoxoxo

Deborah's CCC

Hi everyone,

I have to be quick - Lils' doesn't want to be in the play-pen (darn kid).  Here is my card for the current Lily Pad CCC.  I have done a tutorial here on a simular card.
Believe it or not this card will fold down flat :D.  I decided to colour the froggy blue to match the Lily pad frog & the bikini is one of the themes.  So I downloaded a freebie clip art Bikini for my washing line.  Well I'd better free the beast err........baby.  Have a great week & happy crafting everyone xoxoxoxoxoxo

Deborah's CCC for March

Hi everyone,

By now you would know (& probably partook in one or two) of Deborah's CCC challenges.  Well this month my partner was the very lovely Anette.  So here is what I've made for her :D.

I tried to stick to the colours that Deborah gave as this month's options as well as the sketch for the card.  The pad I made because, well don't tell anyone but I ran out ideas & mojo.  This was the best I could come up with.  Usually I like to make a few cards to send to my partner.  I am hoping that Anette likes these.

I want to show you what a gorgeous card I got from Vera as well. I just love everything about it. So simple (something I love, but can't seem to do) & beautifully done. Plus I also got some gorgeous lace as well. Thank you so much Vera :D I smile every time I see this card, which is a lot. :D xoxoxo

Thanks for stopping by & happy crafting everyone.
PS Am feeling much better today, thanks for the kind words :D xoxoxoxoxoxo

Deborah's CCC for January :)

Hi everyone,

I have a little share today about my entries for Deborah's January CCC.  I should say I have a story to go with my cards ;).  Firstly the cards (then that way you can always go & not have read about the dopey stuff I do).  Deborah themes for the January challenge
  1. Valentines Day
  2. Australia Day
  3. Friendship
So of course me being an "aussie" couldn't resist doing the "bleedin' obvisous" ;D.  I really do feel for Nancy my partner!  So I decided to make some cards with the colours from our flag - red, white & blue.  I also decided to use the sketch that Deborah provided.  Which resulted in the two fish cards.  Then I had a brainwave & made an Aussie flag card with our chant of Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.  Then I decided to make another card based on the sketch.  Only because I am not so keen on the red, blue, white together (sorry Nancy).  I made it "girly" with a huge flower on it, using one of my fav dies Tattered Flowers from Tim Holtz.  So feast your eyes on these :D
Now for the rest of my story.  As you all know we had some devestating floods recently here in Queensland.  Which affected everything including the mail & aircrafts.  Which meant that I was late in sending these cards.  Luckily for me Nancy & Deborah are so understanding.  In the end I sent Nancy pictures of the cards as well as Deborah, just so that Nancy wouldn't feel left out.

Yes the fish do have googly eyes, complete with eye lids & lashes.
Happy crafting everyone xoxoxoxoxo

Deborah's CCC for October

Hi every one,

Below are the cards that I did for Sheila for Deborah's latest CCC. This first card went slightly awry when I was colouring her. Some of the black ink ran so I had to give her an eye patch to fix it up. Next time I think I will just replace her head. I tried to turn her into a Halloween card, I don't think I pulled it off at all.

This next card I made using up my scraps again. I swear that scrap pile is never getting any smaller! My card bases, c/s for stamping, etc are all disappearing faster than I want but not the leftovers.
This last card was made with some of the flowers & gems that I recieved in an earlier CCC. So thought it would be good to put them to use on this card.

Thanks for stopping by & TTFN

Lookie what I got :D

Hi all,

Well I am sooo happy it's sunny outside YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a few clouds in the sky but they are the big fluffy white kind & are few & far between. The sun is out & today looks like its going to be a nice one. Gotta love that :D.

Look at this gorgoeus card that I got from the very lovely & talented Alice. I just love this card & yes it has pride of place near my cardmaking area so I can gaze on it all the time. Although that wont be for much longer, as my LSS Daisychain is going to borrow this card for a little while to display in the shop. Alice has kindly agreed to letting this happen. So thank you very much Alice :D.

This is my card from the equally lovely & talented Kelly. I was lucky enough to be Kelly's person in Deborah's latest CCC challenge. I am so in awe of Kelly's talent with her copics, I love being able to see all that detail in person. In fact this card by Kelly has inspired me to make a card in a simular style.

This is my version of Kelly's card, can you tell ;)? Looks nothing like it I know. I did try what I hope is simular shading on Mudpie & his "eggs" (which are really jellybeans). I also added my trusty diamond glaze to the eggs just for that something extra. You can also check out my flickrstream here for some more pictures of this card.

Thanks for stopping by - TTFN

March CCC - Sanne's cards

*Warning another long post*
Hi all,

I thought I would post the cards that I made for Deborah's March CCC challenge. This time around my card recipent was Sanne. Unfortunately for Sanne the mojo was on a go slow :(.

This first card was a layered one. I brought myself a new Cuttlebug embossing folder with butterflys on it. Which I'd tell you the name of except it's with my cuttlebug at Em's preprep along with all my other cuttlebug stuff. I decided that I really wanted to do a 3D effect so the very top layer is raised up with foam dots. I used a lot of embossing powders on this card along with my trusty versamark pen. Have I told you how much I love using that pen ;D. I also had a go at colouring the pearls in with my copics to get the exact shade that I wanted.

This next card I used the circles left over from the first card & stamped then clear embossed them. I used some Diamond Glaze on the girl's eye as well as stickles on her cake. I also attempted some more detailed shading with my Copics. After watching some video tutorials on the 'net. I am slowly getting better.

This last card is my favourite of the three, I think it's because I'm really pleased with the colouring of the girl, plus the simpleness (which I rarely am able to do). Her eye is also Diamond Glazed just to give it that extra sparkle. I love that the copics can be used on coloured bazzil as well. The flower is stamped directly onto the pink c/s then I used several shades of yellow on it. I also put a pearl in the centre.

On family related news ;D everything is going well. We took Em to my last Obst. appointment & she got to see the baby. I'm not sure but I don't think she was all that impressed, I think the toys where more appealing ;D. We still don't know if we are having a boy or a girl, but most of my family/friends have decided that this one is a boy. I don't mind either way. I was asked by a stranger the other day if "I am having twins & was I due any day now?" Does that give you an idication of the size of my "Bug Bump"? I still have about 11 weeks to go ;D.

Tom is currently wearing a "bucket" on his head or as I like to call it "The cone of Silence". He started licking his stomach & managed to "pluck" all his fur out then all the skin off it. So he's had a secret visit to our vet as my dh doesn't believe in taking him to the vet for these sorts of things. It was hard to explain to Em about secrets as she came with Tom & me. I snuck him into the vets on a day that I knew Doug wouldn't be up for ages. Tom has suffered from this skin irratation before & my vet thinks it's due to all this rainy weather we've had.

I can honestly say that since the begining of March we had one day of complete sunshine & no rain. That was yesterday. At the moment we have a cyclone sitting just off the coast further north so that is going to generate more rain for us.

I had better sign off now so I can go & leave you all some love, I miss checking out your wonderful blogs - TTFN

Deborah's CCC for February

Hi all,

Well it's another month over with, is it just me or are they flying by? So it is time to reveal what I did for Deborah's February CCC.

Firstly this is the card that I got from the very lovely Isha (in Switzerland). Isha tells me that she is quite new to stamping! I wish I had Isha's talent for colouring ;D. Thank you so much for this beautiful card Isha, I have it on display near my crafting space.

Now here are the cards & holder that I made for the very lovely & talented Pia. When I first saw the colour scheme for this challenge my first thought was "On NO" as I'm not a purple person. So much so I had to go out & buy some purple cardstock to finish this project.

I used a few different techniques for these cards, for example I used mini misters, ink & perfect pearls in green & purple for two of the backgrounds on the cards.

This next card is actually about a third of the size of the others & that is the one I used to write in for Pia. The others I all left blank so that Pia could use them as she wished. If you look closely at the frame around the bird you will notice it's slightly darker. I used my versamark embossing pen & clear embossing powder for this.

Lastly here is the card Holder I made for all these cards. For some reason after thinking it was going to be so very hard to make a green/purple card I ended up making about eight of them. Five to Pia & the others I've either donated or given away.

Thanks for sticking through this very long post :D. I hope I didn't bore you to much. Have a great Sunday - TTFN

PS Please stop by Dawn's blog here to see what she made for Em & me to cheer us up - very pretty despite there being no chocolate ;D!

A sneek peek & other bits ;)

Hi all,

Well I thought I would share a sneaky peek at some thing I've been working on for Deborah's latest CCC ;D. I thought this latest challenge was going to be too hard for me, but surprised myself. I like to try & do as many of the "set" options as I can. It's something I like to challenge myself with. This time I decided that I would stick to the colour scheme first because purple & green isn't a "go to" colour combo for me. In fact I had to buy some more paper for this challenge. I know shock horror no scraps where used!!! But don't worry I have since used up a heap of scraps on other cards. So far I've made about 6 cards with this colour combo. One of which is now at my LSS for the owner.

I am not sure if this "pen" is new on the market or I've never seen it before. But I just had to share it with you all. I discovered this versamark pen (whilst buying purple bazzil) yesterday & am in love with it. I had another embossing pen that left a blue line where ever you used it, so I never used it much as it tended to make everything look icky. But this wonderful pen is perfect. Not only does it go on clear like the ink pad, but it has two ends so you can get into really small areas. I think that this is my new go to item, so expect a lot of embossing in my future cards ;D. Btw I wasn't paid to say these things.

Today I went to a instore demo for Justrite stamps at my LSS. The lady doing the demo was so very lovely & her cards are fantastic. Kathy is also a DT member I would recomend checking out her blog here. I had never heard of Justrite stamps till this last week. I wasn't going to go today as all my babysitters have left the country (how rude!). Em was really good for the whole time we where there, she loves to play in the kiddy corner. In the end I didn't order any stamps, but Em got some fun stickers for being a good kid :D.

Lastly I thought I'd share a photo of my bloggin' buddy Smudge. She's flopped down in her favourite spot while I am on the computer. She doesn't look that happy as it it in the mid 30's & very humid & she has a thick coat. We both say bring on winter!!! The scary thing is her personality is very simular to my dd Em. Especially when you tell her she can't do something. Smudge is going to be 5 in a few weeks, unless her 'ttude gets her into more trouble ;). Tom is curled up under a window - I think he's still "recovering" from going to Preprep with Em on Monday.

Well that's enough dribble from me so TTFN xoxoxoxo

January CCC

Hi all,

Firstly I would like to appologise to Deborah for not posting this yesterday........whoops baby brain at it again :(.

These two cards are for Deborah's January CCC challenge. I almost got the bottom one right ;). I thought the colours where red, green, yellow & black. Turns out they where salmon, green, yellow & brown. But at least I followed the sketch & theme ok. I also added the fairy card because these cards are quiet small so decided I needed to make Judy another card. I'm not sure if Judy has recieved these cards yet as I was naughty & posted them on the very last day. It seems to take nearly two weeks before the mail gets to the U.S.A. :(. So Judy I'm sorry about that as well.

Well I have to go do the grocery shoping now - TTFN

Taylored Expressions Sketch

Posted by Picasa

Hi all,

Well I went surfin' last night on the 'net, looking for some inspiration. When I came across Taylored Expressions. I know that some of my blogging friends enter their sketches & the wonderful Alice is a DT for them (hope I got that right Alice).

I seem to have hit a bit of a brick wall at the moment with coming up with ideas for the Cards for kids. So decided that this sketch would be great for the parents of the kids. I have used some of my newer papers for this card & even broke out the liquid pearls, mini misters filled with ink, water & perfect pearls. I also got out an "older" stamp from my Stampin-up set. I think this card works well for both males & females.........what do you think?

I am going to post this card along with the others later this afternoon. Along with my card(s) for Deborah's latest CCC. Have a great week every one & happy crafting TTFN

Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire is playing on the telly so I may as well create whilst watching that. So thank you once again to the very lovely & talented Deborah for my wonderful card & stamped images I love them all.

CCC - Arlene :D

Hi all,

Well as you may or may not know I joined Deborah's CCC (Card Chain Challenge) & yesterday I got these two wonderful cards from the very lovely Arlene :D. Am I lucky or what!!!

The Boo card is for the challenge as we had a choice of sketch, colours or a theme to work from. The Shoe card is a just because card. I love them both so they are going to go onto my cube bookcase, along with all my other card treasures (I think it's my version of the "Pool room" from the Castle).

Have a great day/night & thanks for stopping by & for your lovely comments.

CCC 1st card challenge

CCC 1st card challenge

Hi all,

I have joined a Card chain challenge (CCC) that the very lovely Deborah has started. You can find out more about it here :). I made this card this afternoon. I am hoping that it's ok to post a picture of it before it gets sent.

To be in this challenge we had three options, of which we could use all three or any one of them. For this challenge we had a sketch, a colour theme & theme of get well soon or encourgagement. I chose to do a bit of all three. I decided on the sketch as my starting point & then tried to add as much of the other two options as I could. The colours where the hardest part for me :).

For this card I used the following:

Cream shimmer card base
Bazzil dot papers in yellow & brown
White cardstock
Tim Holtz Distress inks in Peeled Paint & Shabby Shutters
Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Hero Arts CL173 Simple Messages
Hero Arts G4337 Flourish Flower
Kaisercraft Pearls
Kaisercraft flowers
Bronze brads
Prismacolour Pencils
Copic blender
Nestibilities Label Four
Cuttlebug

Thanks for stopping by & your lovely comments :D they are really appreciated. TTFN
