A well deserved holiday

Hi Lovelies,

Today's post is school related - don't worry there's no tests or homework involved.  Phew!!

Emsy's grade 4 teacher Mr Monroe is finishing up today.  He is about to start his long service leave and won't be back for the rest of the year.  So I made a card (Double Z fold) for him and added it to the mug rug that I had made earlier in the year.  I also wrapped up some chocolates for him as well.

Which somehow I managed to co-ordinate.  I can't believe how good I did.  Since I picked up the pp yesterday at Daisy Chain Scrapbooks.  Gotta love that.

This card was only my second attempt (the first one being Mr Monroe's card) at a Double Z fold card.  I really like the way it turned out and can see myself doing some more of these.  The pp is from Kaisercraft's Barber Shoppe collection .  The cars and quote where on the very bottom (the other side of the dpp had the collection info on it) of the pp.  Which is always a fun thing.

Geometric card.

Hi Lovelies,

Today's card is a bit of "A difficult child" for me.  I had actually made another card to enter into the latest challenge over at Creative with Stamps.   I didn't think it was challenge worthy but still a nice card.  This card took a little effort, time and patience.  I had to glue each hexagon down.

 

I yet again made this card with leftovers.  The die cut honeycomb and the "waste" from the die went into this card.  The papers are from Kaisercraft and the sentiment is Hero Arts.  I don't own any geometric stamps so had to "make do" with what I have.  I tried really hard to match the hexagons up so when the card is flat it looks like they are all together.  I found this blog through Just a Dotty Pudding - Jo's blog which you can visit here.

I've changed my name & a manly card

Hi everyone,

Firstly I just want to say no you are not going crazy! This is/was Pajalus Paper & Fabric Addiction.  As you can see I have decided that I needed to have a bit of a change.  I felt that my blog's name didn't really suit who/what I do.  Since the majorityof what I blog about is cards & most of my cards are made from scraps.  I felt that I needed to change the name of my blog to reflect that.  Then decided to go the "whole hog" & change a few other things as well.  Hope you like the new name/look :D.

Now onto the important stuff - my latest card ;-D  which is for Mike. 

What do you think?  Is this blokey (manly) enough?  Like many of you (I'm guessing) out there, I don't have much in the way of manly stamps, papers, etc.  So as per usual I had a rumage through my ice cream bucket of scraps & found these bits of Curio papers from Basic Grey to make the "bones" of my card.  I then had a good look through my Hero Arts stamps to see what I could use.  The tree seemed ideal, as it reminded me of saying (which I can't remember) about how trees can stand tall in strong winds, it seemed to be a good idea at the time.  Then the band behind the sentiment is just one section from CG112 Hello (go here to see the stamp).  I really like the way it turned out.

Mojo Monday Challenge

 

Hi all,

I am so happy :D!!! I made another card that I can honestly say I love. This card was made for the Mojo Monday challenge here. I decided to use the same stamp set from yesterday. I stamped the image three times & coloured in certain areas so I could raise parts up simular to Paper toll. The hand with the spanner is actually raised up three times. I also added Glossy Accents to the spanner just to give it that bit extra shine. If I been thinking I could have used my Twinkling H2Os to give the spanner a metalic look. Maybe next time.

This card is also made from scraps. So far I've been been very good & not cut up any new papers. My filing box is slowly emptying out - I think I've broken the "breeding cycle" of my scraps ;D.

Scraps, scraps & some cards

Hi all,

Well today is just a share :D. A few weeks ago I was sick of my scraps "breeding"!!! So I decided that something needed to be done with them. As you can see I got four really good cards from this one pile of scraps. I particularly like the one with PA on it as all I did was lay those strips across the card base & stamped on one strip.

In Australia we celebrate Fathers' day on the first Sunday of September, so that was what motivated me to use up my "manly" scraps.

I am planning on doing this again for some of my christmas cards as I have a massive amount of christmas paper scraps to use up.
